Why the Lambeth Conference matters

The Anglican Communion represents millions of Christians, churches and communities in over 165 countries. As a significant part of the world wide church, it’s global witness in sharing Good News and living out transformational hope is immense.

The Lambeth Conference theme is exploring what it means to be ‘God’s Church for God’s World’ provides Anglican bishops an important space for conversation and prayer, as they look to the future.

Phases 1 and 2 of the Lambeth Conference provided an important opportunity for bishops and spouses from around the world to gather and discuss church and world affairs. It was a time to listen and learn from one another’s ministries and contexts.

Phase 3 is about building on the important relationships and conversations that were started at the Lambeth Conference.

The aim of Phase 3 is to share outcomes from the conference and invite wider churches and communities to get involved.
