Join us in The Lambeth Conference Prayer Journey sharing 'Prayers of Hope for the World'

We invite you to join with an international community of people as together we pray for hope, justice and transformation in our world.

Pray with an international community

This prayer journey features prayers of hope sent in from around the worldwide Anglican Communion, from Anglican bishops, clergy and laity.

Often recorded via virtual technology during times of lock down – these ‘dialled in’ prayers have been sent from dioceses and nations and represent different voices, cultures, traditions and needs.

Adopting a daily focus, the prayers of hope invite churches and Christians to pray together for issues of peace, planet, poverty, pandemic response, politics and justice, poverty and people.

As the world continues to face immense challenge with COVID-19, climate crisis, economic injustice, poverty, conflict and inequality - we pray with hope.

The prayer season includes prayers from The Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell, Bishop Michael Curry (Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church), Archbishop Thabo Makgoba of Cape Town, Archbishop Linda Nicholls, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, Archbishop Daniel Sarfo (Kumasi, Ghana (West Africa), Bishop Pradeep Samantaroy, Amritsar, North India, Bishop Coadjutor Samy Shehata, Egypt and– and many more.

The Book of 1 Peter

Read from 1 Peter each week. 1 Peter will be the Biblical focus for the Lambeth Conference as we explore the theme of ‘God’s Church, for God’s World – Walking, listening and witnessing together.’

Praise to God for a Living Hope – 1 Peter: 3-6

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
