Christianity and health care share values of justice, human dignity, and caring for people.

Faith hospitals were early modern health-care providers, and many services today are delivered by faith-based organisations, especially where public health infrastructure is strained. This session will explore the benefits and challenges of advancing medical technology. It will also consider the potential for collaboration with the scientific community to address disease prevention and health care.

Contributors:

  • Dr Heather Payne, consultant paediatrician and Senior Medical Officer for the Welsh Government, UK
  • The Revd Professor Kwamena Sagoe, Head of Virology at the University of Ghana’s Department of Medical Microbiology (Co-Chair of the Anglican Communion Science Commission)
