Meet the Lambeth Conference team
Phil GeorgeChief Executive Officer
Phil has a background in banking and more recently was Executive Director of the New Wine Network, with over 2,000 parishes pledged to support each other. The New Wine summer gatherings attract around 25,000 people.
“It’s a privilege to be here and to serve the Archbishop and to be part of what will be one of the most significant Lambeth Conferences ever held,” he said.
Rachel WestallEvent Project Coordinator
Rachel joined the team having been Operations Manager to the Bishop of Islington at the Centre for Church Planting and Growth. She has worked in educational administration and the ‘Fresh Expressions’ team, a project of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York. She knows the Church of England well – she is wife and daughter of vicars – and is relishing the chance to learn more about the Communion in the run-up to the Lambeth conference.
Brad FreyEvent Project Coordinator
Brad, a Canadian, has been loaned to the team by Christian Aid, where he has worked for six years. He has worked with dioceses across the Church of England to support Companion Links. He has also worked in youth and parish ministries in the UK and Canada.
Verity SykesConference Administrator
Verity has been working as a Volunteer Co-ordinator with Caritas Westminster, where she was establishing a volunteer matching service across the Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster. Before that, she did an internship in Children’s and Youth work at a church in St Albans. She is excited to be returning to her Anglican roots and looking forward to learning more about the global work of the Church.
Janice PriceNational Coordinator, Hospitality Programme
Janice is the World Mission Adviser for the Archbishops’ Council of the Church of England. She has been in post for nine years and will continue in her role at Church House – but will also work part-time for the Lambeth Conference team. Janice will work with diocesan appointed coordinators across Britain to plan pre-conference hospitality for bishops and their spouses.
