With just a few weeks to go and registrations still coming in, we are constantly at work allocating bedrooms, putting bible study groups together, finalising the content of the conference programme and thinking about last minute communciations and logistics. [More]

I have just returned from a very interesting time away last month, meeting Anglicans in Zambia and Malawi. (And then a good holiday!)

The last Lambeth Conference 2008 Design Group meeting is currently taking place in Cape Town, so David and Sue are both out in South Africa at the moment. That means final decisions are being made about the conference programme! [More]

I'm very excited (and busy!) today because it is my last day in the office for three weeks.

On Sunday evening, I will fly to Zambia with Stephen Lyon (who is co-ordinating the pre-Lambeth hospitality initiative). After five days there, we go to Malawi. In both countries, I will be meeting bishops and their spouses, sharing information with them about and hearing their priorities for the summer conferences. No doubt I will also be twisting some arms and asking for contributions to the Spouses' Conference programme! [More]

This week I have been a little too busy for my liking. Admittedly, I don't like being busy at all.....

On Tuesday we discussed the production of a resource for hosts and guests during the pre-Lambeth Conference hospitality initiative. This will give a few guidelines on cross-cultural hospitality. The team here had a meeting with Affinity Events for much of Wednesday, catching up on the nuts and bolts of conference planning. [More]

I am feeling slightly sheepish after failing to update you for weeks - again!

The main reason is that I've been spending every waking minute getting Spouses' Conference registration and Lambeth Conference registration stage two up and running. It all seemed a little harder than it should have been.....but we're more or less there now so I feel able to write blog entries again! [More]

The Design Group meeting this month was intense but productive - sadly I was unable to be there (!) but have heard rumours of work going on until 10pm each evening. As you might expect, a lot of progress was made. [More]

Aplogies for not having posted for a while - other things seem to have taken over in recent weeks.

With almost 500 bishops now registered for the conference, there is an increasing amount of communication and administration to be done. And when (fingers crossed) Spouses' Conference registration goes live in the next week or so, the number of delegates to look after will start creeping up even more quickly. Then, before long it'll be 2008 - aaargh! [More]

I have just returned from a week's holiday in sunny Cornwall. Now sitting in rainy London, with the Lambeth Conference countdown clock ticking away, it feels like a rather sudden return to reality!

Sue is also just back from work in Hong Kong and Boston, USA.

It has been a productive week so far, with sucessful communications and conference programme meetings. [More]

I am all alone in the office today.

Sue is working in Hong Kong this week and then in Boston next week. David has meetings with various people involved in the conferences in Canterbury today.

The work towards the next stage of registration is ongoing - not as quick as we'd like but progress is being made. [More]

It has been a week for translation.

As we approach the second stage of registration for the Lambeth Conference and stage one of registration for the Spouses' Conference, we're trying to get as much as we can translated into the various conference languages. [More]

It seems to be the season for meetings.

We're only halfway through the week and there has already been an Anglican Communion Office meeting, a Lambeth Conference Management Group meeting, a Lambeth Conference programme meeting (all three in one day!), Sue has had her regular meeting with the Archbishop of Canterbury, we have met to discuss progress with our events management company (Affinity Events) and had an informal meeting about the next stage of registration. Despite tube strikes in London and post-holiday blues, you'll see the Lambeth Conference Office ploughs ahead!

Marketplace arrangements have been finalised and bookings are now being taken. We're also in the process of making final allocations of bishops and spouses to dioceses in the UK for the Hospitality Initiative. This is more complicated than it might sound (!) but we're getting there. [More]

Progress is being made on plans for the Lambeth Conference Marketplace and evening Fringe Events. Watch this space for more details of both.

I have been learning how to get information about the Marketplace and other things up on our web site and am realising how long web-design takes. Those of you who have them, do be patient with your web masters - it's a slow process! [More]
