Thankfully, all Design Group members who were due to arrive over the weekend did so. Bishop Miguel, from Uruguay, lost his luggage for a while, but that has now been rectified. Breakfast today was good, too!
After a bit of catching up on personal and conference-related news this morning, the Design Group has on its agenda to discuss many aspects of the conference:
ecumenical affairs, Anglicanism (covenant); hermeneutics, global development, climate change, family issues, relationships, gender violence, sexuality, people trafficking, the Listening Process, mission, budget, publicity etc, etc.
They will travel across London to Lambeth Palace on Thursday afternoon, for a conversation with the Archbishop of Canterbury.
And, if they fit all of that work into five days, they'll deserve a breather…although they probably won't get one. At least two members have another international meeting immediately afterwards.
Such is life in the Anglican Communion!
